So far so good, we have hatched 10 chicks out of 13 waiting on a couple more. Works well, handy being able to candle the eggs on the machine. Only problem we have had is every time we changed the setting for days (as we got the eggs on day 16) it went back to day 1 so we had to take the cog out for lockdown and we are not sure if setting should have automatically changed temp and humidity... We followed instructions and it would keep defaulting back to day 1. Otherwise it has been good so far.

You’re absolutely right — the day counter is more of a guide and doesn’t affect the temperature or humidity. Those are controlled separately, with humidity managed by adding water manually. The best approach is to set the day once and leave it, just as you’ve worked out.

Excellent incubator
As a first time hatcher, I found this unit economical and straightforward. Hatched 9 from 9 silkies first go at the beginning of winter with no dramas. I now have 2 of these incubators ;)
