Origin Candler — see inside
The one you’ll use every hatch. High-intensity white light with two nozzles: a wide one that seals against the shell for everyday candling, and a cone with a lens that concentrates the beam for dark or thick-shelled eggs. Veining, air cells, movement, clears and quitters.
Origin UV Candler — see beyond
The one that finds problems before they cost you a hatch. Hairline cracks fluoresce clearly, the shell’s protective cuticle shows up as a glow, and many bacteria and moulds light up under it. Most people run it over a batch before setting, and pull the eggs that would have gone bad in the tray.
Why both
White light tells you whether an embryo is developing. UV tells you whether the egg was ever worth setting. Neither answers the other’s question — a cracked egg looks perfectly fine under white light right up until it contaminates the incubator, and UV won’t show you a beating heart.
Use the UV first, before eggs go in. Use the white one from day five onward.

A word on the safety glasses
365nm UV-A is nearly invisible, so your eyes get no warning. The glasses are included and should be worn whenever the UV torch is on. They use a clear lens rather than the usual amber tint — amber blocks the UV but washes out the colours you’re trying to read, which rather defeats the point.
