Eggs in their last 48 hours need different conditions to eggs still developing, and that is a problem if they are sharing a cabinet. Turning has to stop, because the turning mechanism can injure chicks as they emerge, and humidity needs to be higher so the membranes do not dry out and toughen while the chick is working its way out. A separate hatcher lets you give them exactly that without compromising the eggs still setting.
The other advantage is hygiene. All the down, shell and mess that comes with hatching stays out of the setter, and the hatcher can be stripped, cleaned and disinfected between batches - made easier by the lift-out shelves, which leave the interior empty. Multiple small fans move air in laminar flow around the chamber to eliminate cold spots, and the integral humidity pump holds the level you set regardless of what the room is doing.

The OvaEasy Hatcher EX Connect Series III is a dedicated hatcher for the last few days of incubation. It takes up to 192 hen eggs in four removable covered trays, holds humidity automatically, and reports to the Brinsea Connect app on your phone.
It is designed to partner the OvaEasy 580 EX and 580 EX Connect Series III setters as a complete multistage system, but it works just as well behind any of the smaller OvaEasy cabinets, or alongside another brand of setter.

Performance and ease of use
Multiple small fans blowing air in laminar flow around the chamber give far better temperature distribution than a single large fan. Combined with the laminated high-density polystyrene insulation, temperature is held evenly right through the chamber, which is what produces consistent hatch rates batch after batch.
Humidity is where most hatches are won or lost. The integral humidity pump holds the level you set regardless of what the room is doing, drawing from the supplied water bottle, which deals with the single most common cause of eggs failing to hatch in the final stages.
