Built for Hatching Success

The Maxi II Advance is menu driven and extremely easy to use. Program the length of incubation for your species and the micro-controller holds the correct temperature, turning and length of incubation with no further input. The display counts down each day to tell you when the eggs are due to hatch, and turning stops automatically 2 days prior to hatching. Ideal for learners, hobbyists and teachers wanting to hatch a dozen eggs in the classroom.

Temperature is factory preset at 37.5°C but fully adjustable, with high and low temperature alarms including a room temperature alarm. Air is fan circulated, the clear dome gives excellent visibility, and the Biomaster™ anti-microbial plastic construction is robust and easy to clean. Humidity comes from water trays topped up through the external fill; this model is not suitable for automatic humidity control, so if you would rather the incubator held humidity for you, look at the Maxi II EX.

    Tracy P.
Great price and service from Uneek; bit of a problem with rolling eggs on hatch day.

Firstly let me say that Uneek Poultry had the very best price I've found anywhere on the internet for this particular incubator. Combined with excellent packaging and super fast postage, I’d say their service is excellent.
The instruction book is quite long and involved, but easy enough to follow once you get over the vast expansiveness of it!
I've now used this incubator twice, and whilst it is the easiest I've ever used in terms of, quite literally, set and forget (other than topping up exterior water container from time to time), I did wonder if the slight ratting around of the eggs every 45 minutes was sufficient rotation – seems it is as all fertile eggs made it to hatch day. However, I do think there's an intrinsic problem with the actual hatching process. Firstly you have to be really careful that you’ve set the incubator to stop moving eggs at the appropriate time every time you use it; as it doesn’t appear to remember what you set in last time. Fortunately I heard the base moving under the cardboard at day 20 and figured out the problem. More importantly, as some chickens will always hatch ahead of the others, with corrugated cardboard on the base of the incubator, they knock the rest of the eggs all over the place - causing some to be killed before they get to even start hatching.
For my next batch I've cut some old, fluffy tea-towels to the correct shape in the hopes that they will prevent quite so much rolling about for the late hatchers.
Having said all that, it's easy to clean, easy to set up and I’ve had a pretty good hatch rate second time around when I removed chicks as soon as they were dry (so only lost 2 late hatchers, compared to 6 my first hatch)

Thanks for the detailed review Tracy. Yes you will need to set the hatching days each time you start a new hatch.
Brinsea do this as people hatch different types of eggs and it makes people check before starting.|

Regarding the hatching matt. We recommend customer use the silicon draw liners that are avialable from leading department stores.
These are a good cost effective solution that provides a non slip surface for chicks to hatch on and they can be cleaned an reused. a few times.
Let us know if you need any assistance finding the right ones or if you have any questions.
